Danielle Wood Promoted to Associate Professor

Danielle Wood was recently promoted to Associate Professor in the Program of Media Arts & Sciences.  She is one of eleven faculty members who received promotions this year, effective July 1, 2024.  Wood continues to hold a joint appointment as Associate Professor in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics. In addition, Professor Wood serves as the Faculty Advisor for African and African Diaspora Studies at MIT.

Wood is the founding director of the Space Enabled Research group, which seeks to advance justice in Earth’s complex systems using designs enabled by space. Prior to serving on the faculty at MIT, Wood held positions at NASA Headquarters, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Aerospace Corp., Johns Hopkins University, and the United Nations Office of Outer Space Affairs.
