Dr. Alaa Algargoosh, a postdoctoral fellow in the Affective Computing research group, has received an MIT IBK Research Award for her project titled, “Sound(e)scape: Enhancing well-being through immersive unconventional acoustic experiences.” Her research explores how acoustic environments can elicit positive emotions, and how such experiences can contribute to restoration and wellbeing.
Dr. Algargoosh is an MIT IBK Fellow, as part of the 2022 cohort. The MIT Ibn Khaldun Fellowship for Saudi Arabian Women is open to Saudi Arabian women scientists and engineers who hold a doctoral degree. The MIT IBK Fellowship and its awards facilitate the development of Saudi Arabian women scientists and engineers as leaders in their respective fields of research.
