Space Science in Context is an experimental virtual conference bringing space and science and technology studies (STS) scholars together for an interactive event!

The (free!) conference will use a flipped-classroom model for its talks. Our invited speakers will record their talks ahead of time and these will be uploaded to our website. All videos will have transcripts and closed captioning. On the day of the conference, three sessions–

  • Decolonizing Space
  • Computing, Technology, and Space
  • Space for Society

–will be hosted at different times in video-chat hybrid formats. We will also host posters in the breaks between sessions. Read more about format here.

Ufuoma Ovienmhada will be speaking in the Space for Society session at 10am EDT. The presentation is titled "Earth Observation to Support Low-cost Environmental Governance: A Case Study in Benin."
