AI X Culture Symposium
The AI X Culture Symposium explores the intersection of artificial intelligence and cultural expression, featuring performances, panels, and demonstrations that bridge traditional Thai culture with cutting-edge technology. Through dance, dialogue, and interactive experiences, we examine how AI can enhance and preserve cultural heritage while creating new forms of artistic expression. This symposium is organized by MIT Media Lab, Creatorsgarten, TK Park, Pichet Klunchun Dance Company
The AI X Culture Symposium presents groundbreaking research at the intersection of traditional Thai dance and artificial intelligence, introducing "Human-AI co-dancing" - an innovative framework that pairs human performers with AI-driven virtual dance partners. This initiative transforms classical dance knowledge into dynamic computational models, enabling real-time manipulation of virtual characters. The project deconstructs fundamental principles of traditional Thai dance into computational procedures, allowing dancers, choreographers, and audiences to participate in altering virtual performances through an advanced interactive system. The culminating production, "Cyber Subin," demonstrates the emergence of hybrid movement aesthetics and novel approaches to preserving traditional wisdom in the digital age, showcasing the potential of merging intangible cultural heritage with intelligent technology and posthuman choreography.
